Book 5

Twenty years have passed since Mr. Darcy married Elizabeth Bennet, and their family has grown. All of the Bennet sisters are married, and their children are on the threshold of adulthood and ready for entrance to proper society. War in Europe is over, and it seems that England, and our beloved families, are at peace.

But trouble lurks on the horizon. A popular revolt is brewing in Derbyshire, lead by a deluded radical. The very safety of Pemberley and Chatton House are threatened when a family member goes missing, and Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley, with the help of relatives and friends, must attempt a dangerous rescue while the wolves close in around them.

In Altman’s fifth installment of The Darcys and The Bingleys, she continues Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice not just through romance and foibles but political intrigue, action, and the occasional brutality required of life in Georgian England.

This novel is set in 1822, twenty years after the marriage of Darcy and Elizabeth.

  3. Sierra says:

So is there any other stories coming that involve Mugin. Him and Monkey are some of my favorite characters other than Georgie of course.

  4. Yes. Mugin will be back in book 8 and trust me, the wait is worth it.

  5. Sierra says:

PLEASE PLEASE hurry up and write!!!!!

    • This is going to drive you crazy, but it’s all written. All ten books. The publishing process just takes time if you want to do it right. Book 6 is sitting in editing right now.

  6. Tiffany says:

This was my favorite book of the series! The story line was great and I can’t wait for book 6! Please, please make a book 6. I want to know what happens with the younger generation.

  7. Eileen says:

Hooray. Looking forward to Book 6. Just finished all of them, plus the short stories and while I know I have to wait till 2013 probably, I am glad to hear they are all done. One issue I have found, especially with Book 4 and 5 (Kindle editions) is the typo issue. I found myself tripping over them quite often and that was a bit disappointing. I know it is not your fault, but hopefully your publisher can do a better job going forward. Love all the characters and animals too. Taking a beloved book, history and then allowing your creativity to create more characters to surround the JA core is fabulous.

    • Book 4 had a professional publishing house editor, and book 5 I shelled out for a professional copy-editor, so we’ve all done the best we could, and now there’s a second slightly-corrected edition of book 5 out if you purchased earlier than 3 weeks ago. Just email me for an eBook of the revision. I do try to make the books as professional as possible on all levels, which is really the only reason I don’t just release the books over a couple months – editing takes a long time, especially several editors and copyeditors. So that’s the delay. Hopefully book 7 will be out in early to late Spring, depending again on my editors’ schedules.

  8. Mary says:

Is Book 5 the last one? Ss sad, is so…

  9. Mary says:

    So sad, if so….

  10. Carrie says:

Ack….why can I not find this book for my nook?! I love the first four
